The QA550 from QLS is a superb transport with SPDIF output and replaying uncompressed music files from SD memory cards. Partly due to the absence of moving parts it is able to give high end performance for very little cost. OK you have got to rip your CD’s to memory first but if you already have a PC you can get the performance of £1000+ transports for under £100.

It’s doesn’t have audio outputs, you need to connect it to a DAC to play music.

QLS have done an excellent design job but we have identified some areas where power supply improvements can be done for modest cost resulting in lower jitter output.
